The unedited picture on the right is my favorite picture that I took during the project. The area which I took these in is quite close to my house but it is heavily wooded and has some very nice scenery. It was wet and still cold when these pictures were taken, I really like the way the water and ice play a role in these pictures. The close up shot is very cool to me because it isn't traditional when you think of landscapes but it is a really nice shot.
I took these photos later in the day so the light was dim. I like the effect of the dim light but while the sky is still blue. In the editing process I made the skies appear more blue to accentuate the contrast between the dark trees and the sky. In the water color one, The ice was very clear so the water color gives it a cool effect. The water color one was slightly harder to edit because it's almost entirely black and white so the edits didn't have that much of an effect on the image.
My favorite edited picture throughout this whole project was this pine tree. I love the way the oil painting filter accentuates the grain of the wood and the swirly pattern of branches and pine needles. Secondly, in both of these pictures I love the color scheme of green and browns. The lighting in these pictures is nice because it was right before the sun went down.
When I was photographing these logs I was really playing around with the angle and perspective when I took these. It was around sunset when I took these so the light was very pretty. I think the dim sunlight accentuates the oranges and browns of the wood. I really like looking at the rings of the close up. There is so much detail in such a small amount of space and its very interesting.
The picture on the right has very cool lighting towards the top of the trees. In the edited picture it looks almost orange and that's because of the light that was shining off the trees. The unfiltered image is also very cool because the tree was slightly damp and it gives a cool effect. The perspective is really cool and makes me feel small compared to the size of trees.
